Shopping trip & new couch on order!

Ahoy folks!

Happy sunny-skies-ahead 🙂

The boxes have started piling up in the condo living room.  We are about a week from moving day, which is crazy!

The decision was made that we wanted a custom couch, but just couldn’t justify the $2300 plus tax and delivery price tag for the low-profile one from Gallery One.  We *do* have a budget.

So off to Laz-y-boy Furniture Galleries we went.  We found something that fit the bill perfectly and a handful of other items that might prove inspirational for DIYs down the line.

We bought this couch. But NOT in this yellow colour :) With upgraded fabric and cushions and taxes it was $1200.

This couch is only 34.5″ high, which means it could float in the room or sit under our living room picture window no problemo.  We actually ended up ordering the grey and yellow ikat throw cushions though.  *Sorry for the semi-blurry iPhone photography*  Erin gets a bit excited in furniture stores. 😛  Our Nikon is packed!!

This is the fabric we ordered. It's lush and will be as cat-proof as can be.

We also spied a bunch of other items that would be lovely in our new home.  A couple that definitely sparked some DIY inspiration!

The couch will take ten weeks to be made and delivered.  So while it feels like the living room is underway, it’ll definitely be a while before we can focus on that room.  It will give us time to set up our other rooms in the meantime!

Oh and Sunday – we picked up some preliminary paint swatches!  Choosing the yellow for the kitchen ceiling is going to be tough.  Dan wants super bright.  Erin wants something more tempered.  We will likely land somewhere in the middle.
